Choosing a Novo SST safety group means you’ll be part of a truly more effective prevention mutual!
A safety group is a group of employers who unite and work together to prevent workplace accidents with the aim of reducing their contributions to the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST).
Novo is a leader in the Quebec safety groups market. Why? Simply put, it’s because our safety groups are the highest-performing available on the market. Our members enjoy savings that can reach up to 60% of their CNESST premiums.
Our expertise as a leader in occupational health and safety (OHS) is well-established. This is why hundreds of Quebec companies do business with us. We’ve created five different safety groups to meet the specific needs of every employer.
Novo’s success is based on the annual ranking of its members in its Novo performance safety groups. These aim to group together similar risks in order to achieve the particular safety group’s objectives. We therefore offer five safety groups and a transition group to help you achieve maximum profitability:
• Novo Plus
• Novo Excellence
• Novo Sélect
• Novo Défi
• Novo Solution
The Novo Plus safety group is for large companies that perform well in managing their OHS file.
Ask one of our Novo advisors for more details by emailing us or by calling 1-844-238-NOVO (6686).
On average, Novo SST safety groups lead to savings of 40% on CNESST premiums.
We assess your risks and accident experience performance annually to help you adjust your ranking within one of our safety groups, so you can then benefit from the most savings.
Our team is involved and always available to make sure you get the best results and enjoy the greatest savings!
Protecting life, preserving integrity and keeping your employees healthy in the event of accidents and illnesses must be a priority for you. By offering a safe and healthy work environment, you contribute to the development and retention of your resources.
A prevention plan makes your company safer, more efficient and more competitive. It allows you to avoid work-related incidents and illnesses, which have a significant impact on your company. Avoiding work-related incidents is a serious issue that requires concrete action.
The assessment of the risks, the prioritization and the development of a prevention program are necessary to reach this objective. In order to help you, we offer an innovative tool that allows you to manage your prevention program for each of your facilities. In addition, it provides a real-time overview of your prevention performance. The evaluation of your management skills will be based on two indicators, namely the management of the main risks and the management of preventative measures.
The 5 following conditions must be met for you to fulfill your contractual obligations:
– Management commitment
– Worker participation
– Prevention program
– Management of accidental events
– Monitoring and assessment
Even if our analysis does not enable you access to a safety group, we have a solution for you.
At Novo, being a non-safety group company means that you’ve been excluded from a safety group, or you don’t yet have the experience required to join one, but will benefit from professional support and advice with a view of joining one later.
Therefore, companies that aren’t members of a safety group can also benefit from services to help them take control of their OHS file and thus comply with their employer obligations.
We’ve implemented two products for companies who are waiting to join a safety group. Depending on your company’s file, Novo will direct you to the solution best suited to your needs.
The Transition Group is not a safety group. Rather, it is a solution enabling companies with unfavorable OHS experiences to clean up their files.
With the exception of the defense fund in which the companies in this group do not participate, the Transition Group offers the same services as the Safety Group:*
*Charges may apply for any medical expertise or legal representation required.
As soon as a member company of the Transition Group meets the classification criteria of one of our safety groups, it will be able to join it on January 1 of the following year.
Companies that have been excluded from a safety group by the CNESST or following a corporate transaction can also join the Transition Group.
You must join a safety group by September 30 at the latest in order to be eligible by January 1 of the following year. During the interim period, Novo will help you manage your OHS file.
Novo is committed to helping you manage your OHS file by offering you the following services:
