The use of hazardous materials exposes companies, employees and the public to a multitude of risks every day. Possessing a better knowledge of the different substances, the procedures to be followed during their handling, and the means made available in order to intervene correctly in the event of an accident contributes to promoting a healthy and safe working environment, to preventing risks and thus protecting workers and the public.

Target audience

All Canadian employees involved in any business that manufactures, imports, labels, distributes, transports, handles, sells or uses hazardous substances classified in the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System – WHMIS.
